German Anti-terror Police unit receives Achleitner Survivor I High Mobility Vehicle
The Hamburg's BFE, Germany’s special police unit, has received new vehicles: The Survivor 1 armoured personnel carrier for anti-terror police operations, manufactured by the Austrian company Achleitner. This vehicle is part of a global order for new anti-terror equipment, the amount of the order is evaluated at $5 million.

The Survivor 1 armoured personal carrier, which will be used for anti-terror police operations, can deal with chemical, nuclear and biological warfare agents in order to protect officers inside the vehicle from exposure.

The HMV SURVIVOR I is a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) up to 12,5t, three 100% differential locks, permanent four wheel drive and fully automatic transmission.

The vehicle is developed to meet present and future police, military and paramilitary forces requirements. It has a crew cabin designed as a monocoque cell, which permits to upgrade the protection level in the future.

Standardized engineering and vehicle technologies, the modular protection concept and the payload capacity are the primary characteristics.

Achleitner's know-how in protection concepts is built up since the early 1980's. To meet the latest standards in technology, the Austrian company invests on a continuing development for nowadays and future protection requirements. Its field of activities includes the area of vehicle manufacturing and the tires- and rims-trade.
