Foreigners allowed to serve in the Ukrainian Armed Forces The Ukrainian Parliament is giving the right to foreign nationals to serve in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to the Ukrainian MOD, the law No 2389 was approved in 6 October and around 1,000 combat-ready and experienced servicemen will legally join the Ukrainian Army.

The modernized Dragunov sniper rifle "MDSR" manufactured by the Kalashnikov Concern has been accepted for supplying the Russian Armed Forces, a defense industry source told the Russian news agency TASS. "The MDSR has been accepted for supplying the Armed Forces," the source informed. "At present, there are contracts to provide it." However, the source did not specify the scope of supplies and their destination.

Russia has deployed its famous Mi-24 Hind attack helicopter to Syria, where they are part of the operation against Islamic State terrorist targets. According to Colonel Igor Klimov of the Russian Air Force in Hmeymim Air Base in Syria, the Mi-24 helicopters are currently being used for patrolling the area around the airfield and for potential search and rescue missions.
