ASELSAN has been awarded two new contracts for remote-controlled stabilized weapon systems. The systems have been developed in-house and selected by 11 different countries until now. They can be fitted with a variety of weapons and installed in land or naval platforms.

In five months of operation, the NGO Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) saved over 8.800 lives in the Mediterranean. By spotting and monitoring distressed vessels, Schiebel’s Unmanned Air System CAMCOPTER® S-100 assisted in the rescue and contributed significantly to the success of the mission.

The House of Representatives and the US Senate Armed Services Committee agreed on a USD411 million fund for the upgrade of the Stryker combat vehicles with a 30mm gun, according to BreakingDefense.com. The formation that will have its vehicles upgraded is the 2nd Cavalry Regiment, currently deployed in Europe (Germany) in the aftermath of the crisis in Ukraine.

The Spanish Ministry of Defence has selected the GDSBS Piranha 5 8x8 vehicle for the Vehículo de Combate sobre Ruedas (VCR) or Wheeled Fighting Vehicle programme. General Dynamics Santa Barbara Systems, SAPA and Indra were asked to submit their offer for an 8x8 vehicle. Their project will be financed by the MoD with EUR89.29 million in the 2015-2017 periods.

The Pentagon had been discussing the radar for months, but it wasn't until a high-profile meeting between Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin that Obama decided to finalize the deal.
