I'm talking to
0:03
I'm talking to you from the revolutionary vehicle from Arcus, the Scarabay, which is his first presentation abroad and here in
0:30
Abu Dhabi as Arcus intends to market it on this part of the world
0:35
I'm pleased to welcome you
0:53
So I am the Lacroix Middle East regional manager, Olivier Priuso. So I'm happy to welcome you
0:59
to welcome you and we have a new launching project we would like to share with you
1:04
So this is Galix, iOS and acoustic and navigation. So the system is based on detection
1:14
We use an acoustic detector from Metavit defense which is really long-lasting partner for us
1:22
And we have also the reaction based on Galax. So we are coupled detection and the reaction
1:28
Through control units we have designed and developed and qualified and we are providing a recommended manoeuvre to the crew
1:36
so that we can optimize the self-protection sequence after firing the gallic smoke in the direction of the threat
1:43
So the basic version is only reaction. So the crew does not know when, what time they have to fire in what direction
1:54
So the beauty of this new technology, new system we are providing now
1:58
is that we can use the detection so that we know the direction of the threat
2:02
we know the azimuth, we know the elevation, with an accuracy plus minus 2 degrees
2:08
so that we can arrange in a semi-automatic mode, the firing in the direction of the threat
2:16
And then, thanks to the connection with weather station and navigation, GPS, INS
2:21
we can arrange a tactical computation for the recommended maneuver so that we can optimize for the crew the best possible protection
2:33
So here you can see three types of ammunition. So this ammunition is Galaxy 13
2:40
So this is the premium ammunition. Up to two minutes duration depending on weather condition
2:49
It is based on really smoke and brass flakes. Okay. So this is instantaneous smoke payload
2:57
So with a Brycefax, within one second, we can have a fully deployed smoke screen
3:03
Okay, 300 meters long, six meters high. Very big screen. So that the crew behind is protected for a long, long time and can move and run away
3:15
So here we have the Gaelix, so 17i. This ammunition is for training or for light armored vehicles
3:24
you need 30 seconds protection, it's enough for this kind of light vehicles
3:29
and you can manage behind the screen. And in the middle you have Gaelix 46
3:34
So this ammunition is dedicated for law enforcement. So when you want to disengage crowds around the vehicle
3:42
you can use it because you have two effects. One effect is the rubber pellet
3:46
and the second effect is tear gas. And here you can see the control units that we use
3:53
that we use with another type of detection which is based on laser We can use laser detection system so that we can defeat cornet for example a laser designator or laser telemetor
4:07
So with NIMER, it's a long-lasting partner, started with Binyjaber, then NIMER and now it's part of age
4:14
So it's a 20 years cooperation, more than 500 NIMER VI course are equipped with our Gaelic system
4:22
for the time being it's reaction and we are working now to bring the full package from detection to reaction with a recommended manoeuvre
4:31
There was an opening ceremony for this vehicle two days ago. So we disclosed, unveiled this new system
4:40
You can see it directly on the top of the vehicle. You have an acoustic pillar from MetraVib defense with whom we are cooperating
4:48
You will see the reaction. We have so 16 large. launchers so that we can provide 360 degree protection
4:57
And you have also the display. You can see the recommended manoeuvre
5:01
There is so the screen human machine interface inside the vehicle so I invite you
5:07
to have a look there. My name is Stefan Muleer. I'm in the UAE since 14 years, working for Hensol since three years now
5:31
I'm head of the region for business development and I'm covering all Middle East, Turkey and Pakistan
5:37
and I'm in charge of three offices, one base in Abu Dhabi, one in Riyadh and one in Ankara
5:43
So Idex is the first exhibition in 2021 after this pandemic and we are extremely happy of the quality of this show
5:52
The visitors we are receiving on our booth are extremely accurate and business focused and it is very interesting
5:59
Hensold has a portfolio of more than 500 products and to designate two which are our core product during this exhibition is the Preciser Radar
6:11
which is one of our newest products and extremely good radar and our Expeller system which is a counter drone which is really required by the customer in this
6:22
period. So my name is Pierre Marquis and I'm in charge of sales for Preciser Airborne
6:27
Surveillance Radar. So Preciser is installed new Airborne Service Radar for air, sea and land
6:34
missions. It's an expend radar for a special mission aircraft, helicopters and UAVs
6:40
It has a large diversity of modes including SAR and MTI, offering high resolution
6:48
in Madrid top performance, 360 degree coverage. and can be easily integrated at its only one single component
6:57
So it makes things very easy for maintenance and installation purpose. Hello, I'm Orelian de Rouvre
7:03
I'm a country director for the UAE for Henshold. Today we'd like to introduce to you our counter drone
7:11
and how basically it's working. So our contra drone is based with a radar detection
7:18
combined with a identification of camera, infrared camera for identification. These information will be sent to a component control software
7:30
where you can decide to either jam the signal. So the drone will be not able anymore to communicate with the pilot
7:40
Or you can decide to send this other drone, which is equipped with a net, and will just capture the drone
7:47
We call it soft kill. and we put somewhere else so the drone will not disturb the environment where you want to protect Hello my name is Pavel Dojko I a business development director at Excalibur Army
8:20
which is a Czech company part of the Czechos part of the Czechoslova group holding. Of course, Excalibur Army is a prime company in the Czech Republic
8:27
in the field of military vehicles production. And Idex is the biggest event in this field
8:34
so this is definitely an event that we cannot miss. We're showcasing firstly the 155 millimeter hovitzer
8:41
the Dita, which is a new product that we are introducing as a premier at this show
8:48
And we're also introducing our 4x4 medium class APC, the Patriot 2
8:55
The DETA is a new system that is very innovative and automated
9:00
It's a 155mm hovitzer of 45khalybers. It's based on an 8x8 Tatra chassis
9:08
that gives it perfect performance in the hardest of terrain and perfect passability
9:15
It's equipped with the ballistically protected cabin of our own design that is certified and testes
9:20
certified and tested and huge advantage is high level of automation of the complete system
9:27
because all of the crew is actually located in the cabin and it's just a driver and the commander
9:34
because the system is completely automated from the point of both loading of ammunition of both the grenades and the propellant charges
9:44
as well as in the guidance system because the vehicle is equipped with the very powerful onboard
9:50
control system, which gets all of the data about the ammunition, about the firing coordinates
9:57
and everything. It is equipped with the GPS system and inert navigation, which feed the data into the ballistic
10:04
computer, which is then able to work either as the vehicle completely autonomously or to
10:12
receive the firing mission from a higher level of command. And basically the commander, all you can do is basically just to push a button and the mission can be executed
10:25
And the ballistic computer does all of that as it selects the right round, the right propellant charge for the firing mission at hand
10:33
So our second vehicle that we are displaying at IDEX 2021 is the period 4x 4, which is a medium-class armored personnel carrier
10:43
It is basically a 4x4 Tatra chassis, which is very similar to the Tatra chassis that you would see running on the rally Parida car
10:53
which gives you probably the best idea about its performance it has in the terrain and the capabilities it provides to the operator
11:04
The Patriot 4x4 is a modular platform that can be modified to the customer in a way of our
11:13
armoring in the way of engine used, transmission used, and most importantly the module for the
11:20
mission kit that is required. It can serve as an APC, it can serve as a firefighting vehicle
11:28
which we built for the Czech firefighters. It can be NBC reconnaissance vehicle, ATGM carrier
11:35
Basically, whatever configuration is required, our engineers in the Czech Republic can
11:41
modify the vehicle to see the needs of the customer. My name is Liam Carville
12:01
I'm the project manager for Armoured Solutions, which is part of defence industries
12:07
OK, behind us we have Armoured Solutions A6800, which is a 6.8 ton chassis-based APC light armour vehicle
12:16
What Armoured Solutions are trying to do is get into the market for small, lightweight, armoured
12:21
vehicles. The base of the vehicle that we use is the F550 Ford F550 chassis. The reason
12:28
for that is it's pretty common across the industry, readily available, easily
12:31
maintainable and very reliable. What we wanted to do is actually offer a vehicle with a higher spec at a very competitive price. So for example, competitive
12:39
companies will offer you the ballistic capsule on the chassis and everything else
12:44
comes as options. But because we're providing directly to the military we want to
12:48
provide our vehicle with all the requirements that you should have on an arm of
12:52
personnel carrier. So things like suspension upgrades, brake upgrades, steering upgrades, all come at standard as well as additional equipment fire suppression
13:00
systems in the wheelbase, the engine compartment, inert gas, fire suppression systems
13:06
inside the vehicle, blasts, blasts, tire inflation systems on our vehicle or come
13:12
standard. So it's a 6.7 litre Ford diesel torque engine. That gives us about four
13:18
400 to 450 brake horsepower depending on the fuel quality that you're using
13:22
That's then connected to a 10 speed auto box which gives us a two-wheel drive option or
13:29
four by four with interchangeable high and low range. Yes my name is Holger I work for Alcya Marine Company
13:47
Alsea Marines Supplies and Equipment is a local company here in Abu Dhabi
13:52
We are originally a boat builder and we have started since many years ago we have started to develop unmanned systems
13:59
We have started to build and produce unmanned boats and we have moved further from the water to the land to the amphibious part of unmanned ground vehicles and unmanned amphibious vehicles as well
14:12
These are all in-house produced. We design, we build and we build
14:17
We train and maintain as well. We don't just leave our products out for the customers
14:22
We make sure that we give the support anyone requires who buys our products
14:28
We have here, behind me, an eight-wheeler, an eight-type wheeler, an unmanned vehicle, capable
14:34
of actually going into the water. It's an amphibious vehicle and it can be completely remote controlled
14:43
system, the software developed by Alcya Marine in-house and we believe that this is one
14:50
product of the niche market of the amphibious vehicles here in the region
14:55
As we have done some market research of course, we have not so far found amphibious vehicles
15:01
which are here to be bought off the shelf and also if you look around here you can see boats
15:06
hardly unmanned boats. This is also us what we are showing here, the only one showing this
15:12
in the live demo. You can see of course many unmanned ground vehicles, but half of the
15:19
mixture of the land and water, the amphibious part of it, we have not seen so far. That's
15:25
really a unique product
