New unmanned variant project of AeroEastEurope's SILA 750 aircraft introduced in Serbia
A new project of armed unmanned aerial vehicle has been introduced today at PARTNER 2015 exhibition, being held from 23-26 June in Belgrade, Serbia. Based on AeroEastEurope SILA (Serbian Industry of Light Aircraft) 750, this new UAV could become the third and biggest UAV system produced by the Serbian company Yugoimport after Sparrow and Long Range Tactical UAVs.

The AeroEastEurope (AEE) SILA 750 is a two-seater light turboprop aircraft. It is powered by Rotax series engines. It can fly at speed up to 224 km/h and has a maximum range of 1,000 km. At PARTNER 2015, Yugoimport unveiled a new project for an unmanned aerial vehicle variant of the SILA 750.

The achievement of this convertion is to get a compact and low cost UAV for observation, reconnaissance and aiming in the real time. The SILA 750C UAV is also attended for safe action against smal surface targets as well as for tasks in the area of internal security, border control and traffic control, or in the case of natural disasters.

The future SILA 750C UAV will be able to perform observation thanks to EO/IR equipment. It will have an operational range of up to 200 km and an endurance of 10 hours. This UAV will be able to be remotely controlled or to perform missions in complete autonomy.

The UAV is intended to perform combat missions. Thanks to its two hardpoints, the new UAV can be fitted with two weapon pods, or with small guided bombs and missiles. At PARTNER 2015 exhibition, scale-models of the UAV were shown equipped with two "BR-7-57" pods which have capability to carry and launch up to eight 57 mm unguided rocket weapons.
