Chilean Amphibious Expeditionary Brigade troops exhibited new SCAR L 5.56mm assault rifle

The new IWI ACE GALIL 22 NC was shown in the hands of Reservists Battalion, Infantry Regiment No.1 "Buin Mountain School" and Reinforced Regiment No. 3 "Yungay". These rifles belong to a batch purchased directly from the manufacturer, Israel Weapon Industries (IWI). In the short term Galil ACE 22 NC is excepted to be co-produced in Chile by Factories and Arsenals of the Army (FAMAE) for other units of the institution. FAMAE is responsible for making the receiver, the cannon and rifle gas sampling. It also deals the entire assembling of these parts and elements of the subset, such as the focus and the hilt.

Moreover, members of the Amphibious Expeditionary Brigade (BAE), from Chilean Navy Marines Corps, first exhibited at the military parade the FN Herstal SCAR L 5.56 x 45 mm assault rifle. The BAE selected in 2013 the FN Herstal SCAR L as new assault rifle to replace the Heckler & Koch HK-33 E and made a purchase of 2,000 units to provide the entire BAE with this new weapon. The SCAR L Marine of the Chilean Navy has the standard barrel of 14 " and includes, among other accessories, the FN40GL-L 40 mm grenade launcher, silencers and various systems aim day and night.
