"At present the holding completed the first stage of assembly and startup work upon a contract with Rosoboronexport. The work will continue upon agreement with the Peruvian side in October. We plan to complete the work this year and assist our counterparts in the maintenance of the first helicopters," Chechikov said at SITDEF-2019 show in Lima.

The service center comprises three lines - capital overhaul of Mi-171Sh glider, unit overhaul, and aircraft and electronic equipment maintenance.

The holding said North and South America operate over 370 Soviet and Russian civilian and military helicopters. Peru has over 90 civilian and military Mi-8/17 helicopters of the Soviet and Russian make.

SITDEF is held in Peru on May 16-21. The Russian Helicopters presents the main civilian line of rotorcraft - light Ansat, medium Mi-171A2 and medium-heavy Mi-38. The holding will discuss maintenance and overhaul of Mi-8/17 helicopters operated in Peru. Negotiations will be held on the acquisition of the latest Russian civilian rotorcraft and their supplies to foreign customers.
