"The military-technical cooperation between Russia and Peru is gradually developing with a positive dynamic for nearly half a century. During the time a broad range of Soviet and now Russian military and dual-purpose products were supplied to the country. Peru is the biggest Latin American buyer of our helicopters. It operates over a hundred Russian rotorcraft. We see a major potential to develop cooperation with Peru in the military and civilian spheres and will expand it," Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov said.

"At SITDEF 2019, Russia will continue to discuss with the regional partner's prospects of supplies of military end products and technological cooperation. I am sure that our participation in the show will demonstrate our best products and solutions and expand interaction with the whole Latin American region," he said.

Rosoboronexport presents a wide range of military products, including the latest equipment from the export catalog as the Kalashnikov rifles of the 200th series, seaborne Pantsir-M, Sarsar and Karakurt-E warships, Il-78MK-90A air tanker, and Orion-E reconnaissance drone. The arms trader also displays scale models of Mi-35M and Mi-171Sh transport helicopters, MiG-29M fighter jet, T-90S tank, BTR-82A APC.

"Peru is a long-standing Russian partner in military-technical cooperation. The country knows Russian aircraft, helicopters, armor, antitank weapons and air defense and values their quality and reliability. In 2019, we plan to complete the creation of a helicopter service center in La Joya. The necessary equipment and documentation have been supplied. This year the construction of a training center with a Mi-171Sh simulator will be completed in Lima. Rosoboronexport is ready to develop cooperation in all guidelines, including infrastructure, upgrade of supplied hardware, the export of new high-tech products and technology transfer," Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheyev said.
