Citing information published on the Internet, the Czech Republic would have given 20 DANA 8x8 152mm self-propelled howitzers and 20 RM-70 122mm MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) to Ukraine. Czech Republic has also provided T-72 main battle tanks and BVP-1 tracked armored Infantry Fighting Vehicles to Ukraine.

Czech Defence Ministry had sent military aid worth nearly $45 million to Ukraine since the beginning of the war in February 2022.

Czech Republic has recently taken the decision to acquire French CAESAR 155mm wheeled self-propelled howitzers manufactured by the French company Nexter, which will replace the old Dana 152mm howitzers currently in service with the Czech army.

The Dana is a 152 mm wheeled self-propelled gun-howitzer that was developed in the late 1970s by the Czech company ZTS to meet the operational requirements of the Czech Army for a highly mobile self-propelled artillery system.

The Dana is based on a Tatra 815 8x8 military truck chassis with the driver's compartment at the front, a fully enclosed turret in the center, and the engine compartment at the rear. All three compartments are armored and provide protection against the firing of small arms fire and artillery shell splinters.

The Dana is armed with a 1522mm howitzer which fires the same ammunition as the Russian-made 152 mm 2S3 tracked self-propelled howitzer. The artillery system is fitted with a fully automatic loading system that loads the projectile and then the charge using an automatic rammer. The weapon can be loaded at all angles of elevation. The 152mm cannon has a maximum firing range of 20 km with standard ammunition and 28 km with extended range ammunition.
