It is intended that the Vehicle-Mounted PSYOPS Loudspeaker Equipment (“Truppe OPERATIVE INFORMATION”) will be used for direct communication with target groups in areas of operation. This equipment makes it possible to inform target groups in remote areas about the situation and intentions of own forces while safeguarding the own command and control capability and internal communication. The equipment will be used across the entire task spectrum of all categories of the German armed forces. The use of the loudspeakers in the DINGO 2 A3, in individual and collective operation, and in remote operation in theater should be equally possible as the use for training purposes in Germany.

The Vehicle-Mounted PSYOPS Loudspeaker Equipment will replace the short lightweight all-terrain loudspeaker team truck for loudspeaker equipment installation kit which has been used up to now.

Basically, the equipment consists of a long-range loudspeaker for long-distance speech reproduction (> 800 meter), an omnidirectional loudspeaker for speech and music reproduction in the close range of the vehicle as well as the associated recording and replay devices for loudspeaker announcements and microphones for use by team leaders and translators/interpreters. It is possible to operate the loudspeaker equipment, which protrudes from the vehicle roof by 1.20 meters when the pole is extended, while traveling at low speed.

The conducted tests included the measurements of the following features: The level of both loudspeaker systems at various distances and in the vehicle interior; the articulation score and effective sound pressure at a distance of 800 meters of the long-distance loudspeaker; and the syllable articulation of the omnidirectional loudspeaker. Representatives of the PSYOPS Battalion 950 (Battaillon für Operative Information 950 - OpInfoBtl 950) and the manufacturer supported the Technical Center in this task.

After successful testing at WTD 91, the vehicle was handed over directly to the Psychological Operations Center where it is used for the training of personnel for missions.
