Founded by Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Military Industries, World Defense Show is a fully integrated and future-focused defense event set to showcase the latest technological developments from across the globe and demonstrate interoperability across all domains.

With the World Defense Show, Saudi Arabia plans to become a major platform for the global defense industry and offers new opportunities for international defense and security and opening investment for foreign companies in collaboration with local industry.

The Saudi armed forces are among the best equipped in the region, and the Kingdom has displayed an increasing willingness to use them as part of a more assertive foreign policy. Today, Saudi Arabia is one of the world’s leading players and one of the top spenders in the defense sector.

Currently, there is only a defense-industrial base, mainly in the assembly and overhaul of land systems, but Saudi Arabia has declared an intention to spend 50% of its defense outlays locally as part of its Vision 2030 initiative, and established the state-owned Saudi Arabian Military Industries to oversee local defense production.

In line with the Saudi Arabia Kingdom’s Vision 2030 ambition, to localize 50% of domestic military expenditure, Saudi Arabia aims to be at the forefront of future defense technologies making it an increasingly important catalyst for change shaping the future of defense.
