Elbit Systems America signs $500 Million Contract to Supply Night Vision Goggles to US Marine Corps.

On November 29, 2023, Elbit Systems Ltd., an Israeli defense electronics company, announced a significant contract awarded by the U.S. Department of Defense. The company's U.S. subsidiary, Elbit Systems of America – Night Vision LLC, has secured an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract with a ceiling of $500 million. This contract is for the supply of Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggle (SBNVG) systems, including spare and repair parts, contractor logistics supports, and test article refurbishment.

The work under the ID/IQ will be carried out in Roanoke, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by 2028. Following the contract award, Elbit Systems of America has already received an initial delivery order worth approximately $127 million.

The SBNVG is a cutting-edge, lightweight, helmet-mounted system designed to provide superior nighttime viewing capabilities in various environments and conditions. It aims to enhance the situational awareness and performance of warfighters. Notable features of the system include extended battery life and high-performing white phosphor image intensification tubes, which offer improved clarity and depth perception.
