United Nations peacekeepers soldiers from France to secure
Lebanon border.
France
goes taken part in the UN force in Lebanon, the
UNIFIL, with main battle tanks and many armoured
vehicles and more than 2000 soldiers. The units
which will be deployed are two companies of mechanised
infantry with AMX-10P from the " Régiment
de marche du Tchad ", one squadron of main
battle tank Leclerc from the " 6-12°
Régiment de cuirassiers " from the
city of Olivet, a artillery group with self-propelled
howitzer AU-F1 from " 1° Régiment
d'artillerie de Marine " city of Laon, one
section of anti-aircraft protection and a Cobra
Radar from the " Artillery Brigade of Haguenau"
and logistic unit. On this time, 14 countries
go taken part to the new UN force to the Liban,
the UNIFIL. Now, 2000 soldiers are to the Lebanon,
to become 15000 in a few days. 30 August 2006

Belgium The
most important WW2 vehicles and live show, the Tanks in Town
2006.
During
two days near the city of Mons, Belgium, the Royal
Auto Moto Club in collaboration with the city
of Mons organize the event Tanks in Town. This
is one of the most important WWII military event
in Belgium. The Saturday, there is big static
exhibition to the place "Boîs-Brûlé",
whith lot of US armoured vehicles from WWII and
modern armoured vehicles. The Sunday there is
a big dynamic demonstration and all vehicles will
come after to the "Grand-Place" of Mons.
