Soldiers of Russian army to start training with new LPR-3 laser reconnaissance device.
At the ranges located in Rostov Region, Krasnodar Krai and Stavropol Krai reconnaissance men of the Russian Army Southern MD (Military District) formations and units started mastering modern laser reconnaissance devices LPR-3, which have been introduced in the Armed Forces this year.

Using this new equipment they are able to detect and identify different types of objects at the day time as well as to define their coordinates.
 

LPR-3 with integrated magnetic compass and satellite navigation system GLONASS capable of positioning the device allows to indicate the position of the operator and the coordinates of the targets.

It is to be mentioned that starting from this year the Southern MD has received about 200 pieces of military hardware including 40 T-72B3 tanks, about 10 modernized AA missile systems Strela-10, 30 advanced armoured automobile vehicles Typhoon on the basis of KAMAZ and Ural trucks, over 20 MLRS Grad.

Moreover, in the second half of the year, the Land Forces, Coastal Troops of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian flotilla as well as Special Task Force formations of the Southern MD will receive over 1 000 pieces of military equipment including tanks, automobiles, missile and artillery weapons, EW and engineering equipment.
