Belgium-based FN Herstal, one of the world’s leading designers, developers and manufacturers of small caliber weapons and weapon systems, presents the FN SCAR-SC subcompact carbine, the latest member in the SCAR family available in two calibers, 5.56x45mm/.223 Rem or 7.62x35mm/.300 BLK.

The Subcompact model derived from the FN SCAR rifle was specifically designed and adapted to be used by police or security forces. Specifically adapted for mobility and flexibility, the 5.56x45mm-caliber FN SCAR-SC is built on the FN SCAR technology with an extremely compact design that’s ideal for special response teams and SWAT forces.

The FN SCAR-SC features a standard telescopic buttstock allowing a 3-position length adjustment and is available with a wide choice of buttstock types (short telescopic buttstock, foldable or fixed adjustable buttstock, or foldable, adjustable offset buttstock for use with helmet visor) to fulfil the specific needs of the users. Similarly,all FN SCAR-SC variants are available with a receiver with Picatinny type side rails or with KeyMod receiver.

The FN SCAR-SC chambered in 5.56×45mm NATO cartridge uses standard magazine of 30 rounds capacity. The cyclic rate of fire is 550-650 rounds per minute. It has a length of 536mm with telescopic buttstock retracted and 635mm when fully extended. The approximate weight of the FN SCAR®-SC is 3.15 kg and the barrel has a length of 190.5mmm.

The FN SCAR-SC is also available in 7.62x35mm (.300 BLK) caliber. As for the 5.56mm caliber model, it features a standard telescopic buttstock and is available with a wide choice of buttstock types and accessories to accommodate the specific needs of the users.
