The
M1035A2 ambulance vehicle is based on the chassis of the standard Humvee.
The vehicle is designed and manufactured by the American Defence Company
AM General. The M1035A2 replaced the M1035 HMMWV variant. The M1035A2
can carry two litter or three ambulatory patients. These vehicles provide
mobility for emergency situations and a quick link between battlefield
casualties and emergency services not readily available on the front
lines of battle.The vehicle is in service in the U.S. Army since January

Design
and protection |
The
M1035A2 HMMWVs is the soft-top ambulance configuration of the
HMMWV family. The M1035A2 has no armor protection for crew and
patients and is used to transport casualties from the battlefield
to the medical aid area.

Mobility |
The
chassis, mechanical components and general performance are the
same as other models of the standard Humvee M998 series.The
M1035A2 is motorized with a V-8, 6.5L Diesel Fuel Injection
engine coupled to an 4-speed automatic transmission with a maximum
input torque rating of 451 lb.-ft. (612 N m).

Accessories |
The
M1034A2 could ford hard bottom water crossings up to 76 cm without
a deep water fording kit and 152 cm with a kit. In option, the
M1035A2 can be equipped with with an optional 4,100 kg self-recovery
winch.
