Since first being deployed by UK armed forces in 2000, Lincad’s range of LIPS batteries has been continuously developed, with improvements in capacity and energy density being achieved through the integration of new cell technology and enhanced mechanical and electronic design. Ruggedised to meet the most demanding operational requirements, the batteries are available in a variety of capacity options and alternative communication protocols to suit a range of different applications.

The Australian government recently published its 2016 Defence White Paper which set out plans for increased defence funding, set to grow to 2% of Australia’s Gross Domestic Product by 2020-21. It is projected that over the period to 2025-26, there will be approximately A$195 billion of new investment in the country’s defence capabilities.

Peter Slade, Lincad’s Project Manager, commented: “Our ever-developing LIPS batteries have been used by a number of armed forces around the world. As a leading British battery manufacturer, we’re delighted to continue our relationship with the Australian Defence Force to support their developing defence and security requirements.”
