The replacement of existing gas masks will take time. The program has been approved and "will be successfully implemented in the coming years," Kirillov said.

"In future the design of a principally new radiation, chemical and biological protection helmet will begin. It is an integrated system of protection from chemical and thermal adverse factors. Actually a gas mask will be combined with an armored helmet," Kirillov said. The perspective respiration protection system will become a component of combat survivability gear of servicemen.
