PT Pindad to cooperate with Calidus-UAE for 8x8 armored vehicles


As reported by Defense Studies, on June 30 at the Office of the Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates, the President Director of PT Pindad, Abraham Mose, and the Chairman of Calidus LLC, Faris Al Mazrouei, signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of defense, specifically related to the joint development of 8x8 combat vehicle products. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between PT Pindad and Calidus LLC was witnessed by the Indonesian Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto, and the Minister of Defense of the United Arab Emirates, H.E. Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi.

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding is a continuation of the defense cooperation between the two countries that was officialized in February 2020 in Abu Dhabi. This signing is also a step forward for Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates to synergize and collaborate to improve the capabilities and expertise of their respective defense industries.

Calidus LLC is a private company based in the United Arab Emirates, set up to design, develop, integrate and manufacture defense products related to both air and ground vehicles. This time, the scope of the MoU focuses on cooperation in the joint development and production, engineering design, technical assistance and supply of components for 8x8 combat vehicles. Through this collaboration, PT Pindad expands its technological competence, especially in the development of 8x8 combat vehicle products for desert use and ballistic resistance.
