Myanmar's Air Defence Command was formed during the late 1990s but was not fully operational until late 1999. It was renamed Bureau of Air Defense in the early 2000s (decade). In early 2000, Tatmadaw (Myanmar army) established the Myanmar Integrated Air Defence System (MIADS) with assistance from Russia and China.

Naung Yoe Technologies, which, at first, doesn’t really seem to be  (but maybe is) the manufacturer of the vehicles illustrated here, was established in 2005 and started operating in security, networking, integration and implementation of electronic security system equipment products in Myanmar and has a wide variety of embedded security systems in the electronic security domain in industrial, corporate and residential sectors. The company specializes in finding the right solution and consulting its clients in the field of security, communication, oil and gas, IT, hospitality, governmental and private sectors in Myanmar. Is the production of military vehicles locally developed an additional activity of this company? It should be checked.

Myanmar people have a long tradition of copying and modifying various models of Willys Jeeps dating back to World War 2 and after, until recent models. As assessed by Army Recognition’s chief editor since the 1990s, they make all the body parts by hand with a trend to produce them in series, while the mechanical parts are recuperated from scrapped Jeeps, mostly U.S. or Japanese, sometimes Indian Mahindra.

The modern vehicles shown here appear to be serial ones but the figures are unknown. Actual induction of these vehicles in the Myanmar army would be interesting.
