According to the latest information published by the German Ministry of Defense on October 20, 2022, Germany confirms the supply to Ukraine one air defense missile system Iris-T SLM, 10 Pionierpanzer 2A1 Dachs engineer armored vehicles, and seven Heavy And Medium Bridge Systems.

In terms of combat vehicles, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Germany has already delivered or approved the supply to Ukraine of 30 Gepard anti-aircraft armored vehicles, three MARS II M270 MLRS Multiple Launch Rocket Systems, 10 PzH 2000 155mm self-propelled howitzers, 54 M113G3DK/G4DKs tracked armored APCs (Armored Personnel Carriers), eight ground surveillance radars mounted on HMMWV, 1 Cobra counter-battery radar system, 10 Bergpanzer 2 armored recovery vehicle, 30 armored Volkswagen Amarok SUV, 280 All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), minibusses and trucks and 80 pick-up trucks.
In a united response to Russia's war on Ukraine, which started on 24 February 2022, EU Member States agreed to supply Ukraine with military equipment, including equipment designed to deliver lethal force. As of 16 May, Member States had agreed to make available €1.5 billion through the European Peace Facility (EPF) to fund assistance measures aimed at supporting the capabilities and resilience of the Ukrainian armed forces.
While countries such as Czechia, Poland, and Slovenia have reportedly delivered heavy weaponry including T-72 tanks, others such as Austria and Ireland have decided to provide exclusively non-lethal equipment, in line with their policies of neutrality. So far, only Hungary, Malta, and Cyprus have decided not to supply Ukraine with any military equipment at all.
The Iris-T SLM is a surface-to-air defense missile system designed and manufactured by the German company Diehl Defence. The air defense system supplies to Ukraine, consists of three truck-mounted launchers, carrying eight missiles each, and a separate command vehicle that can be positioned up to 20 km away. The command vehicle integrates multiple radar sources and is able to launch and track all 24 missiles simultaneously. The missile of the Iris-T SLM can destroy aerial targets at a maximum range of 40 km.
The Iris-T SLM is able to intercept cruise missiles and other aerial threats such as aircraft or drones but is not capable to intercept ballistic missiles.
The Pionierpanzer 2A1 Dachs is an engineer armored vehicle based on the Leopard 1 MBT (Main Battle tank) chassis. It is equipped with a dozer blade mounted at the front of the vehicle and a 195°-pivoting telescopic arm with a backhoe mounted on the right side of the top hull.
The tasks of the Pionierpanzer 2A1 include the recovery of damaged vehicles, and the creation of entrances and exits to river-crossing sites or steep and muddy shore areas. Furthermore, the vehicle can make riverbeds accessible or remove obstacles and barriers on the battlefield.
The Pionierpanzer 2A1 is operated by a crew of three. It has a Gross Vehicle Weight of 43,000 kg with a length of 8.92m, a width of 3.25m, and a height of 2.69m.
