Helicopters are often named the workhorses of modern war. They transport troops and various cargoes, evacuate wounded personnel, conduct air support and reconnaissance, etc. Russia`s Rosoboronexport company (a subsidiary of the Rostec state corporation) offers a wide range of modern helicopters that meet the strictest requirements to this type of military hardware.

The Mi-35P transport-combat helicopter is intended for air support of ground troops and transportation of personnel and cargoes. The rotor-wing aircraft is equipped with a radar warning system, flare and chaff dispenser systems, optical and electronic interference generation system, and protection of cockpit and pivotal systems. Mi-35P can be armed with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), unguided rockets, gun pods, and aerial bombs. It also features an integrated GSh-30 twin-barrel aircraft cannon. According to the specifications of the Mi-35P transport-combat helicopter in the official catalogue of the Rosoboronexport company, the gunship has a normal take-off weight of 11,200 kg, a maximum take-off weight of 11,500 kg, a maximum air speed of 320 km/h, a cruise air speed of 280 km/h, a hovering ceiling of 1,750 m, a service ceiling of 4,500 m, a maximum normal range of 450 km, and a crew of two pilots. The aircraft is powered by two turboshaft engines.

The Mi-35M transport-combat helicopter is a further development of the Mi-35 gunships family. The combat effectiveness of the rotor-wing aircraft has been significantly improved over previously developed models. Mi-35M can eliminate various targets and transport troops, cargoes, and wounded personnel. It is equipped with an airborne computer, an airborne graphic station, multifunction color displays, a GPS system, a digital moving map, night vision googles, and a FLIR system. Mi-35M can be armed with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), unguided rockets, and gun pods. It also features an integrated GSh-23L twin-barrel aircraft cannon mounted in the gun turret. The survivability of the gunship is provided by flare and chaff dispensers and engine efflux screens. According to the specifications, the Mi-35M transport-combat helicopter has a normal take-off weight of 10,900 kg, a maximum take-off weight of 11,500 kg, a maximum air speed of 315 km/h, a cruise air speed of 260 km/h, a hovering ceiling of 3,100 m, a service ceiling of 5,700 m, a maximum normal range of 415 km, and a crew of two pilots. The Ka-52 combat helicopter is intended for destruction of ground and aerial targets and reconnaissance on the battlefield. The Mi-171Sh military transport helicopter is intended for transportation of troops, wounded personnel, and cargoes, as well for the destruction of ground targets. The rotor-wing aircraft can be easily converted into a gunship, assault-transport helicopter, or a medevac. It is equipped with an advanced avionics suite. Mi-171Sh features a high level of survivability that is provided by flare and chaff dispensers, engine efflux screens, protected fuel tanks, and eight additional armor plates that protect against 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm bullets. The rotor-wing aircraft can be armed with unguided missiles, gun pods, and small arms. According to the official specifications, the Mi-171Sh military transport helicopter has a normal take-off weight of 11,100 kg, a maximum take-off weight of 13,000 kg, a maximum air speed of 250 km/h, a cruise air speed of 230 km/h, a hovering ceiling of 3,980 m, a service ceiling of 6,000 m, a maximum normal range of 580 km, and a crew of three pilots. The aircraft is powered by two turboshaft engines.
