The introduction of the Krasnopol-M2 provides the Russian army with game-changing precision artillery ammunition, offering accuracy comparable to a sniper rifle. With its laser-guided system, Krasnopol-M2 can accurately engage both stationary and moving targets, making it a formidable tool on the Ukrainian battlefield.

The 155mm Krasnopol-M2 artillery guided munition is engineered to engage both stationary and moving armored and unarmored vehicles. It can be fired by self-propelled howitzers such as the 2S3 Akatsiya and 2S19 Msta-S, primarily targeting small ground units like tanks, direct-fire weapons, strong points, or other significant point targets visible to the observer.

The Krasnopol-M2 brings a wealth of advantages and operational features on the battlefield. It marks a transition from traditional area-target fire to high-precision engagement of selected targets. It guarantees first-shot kills without registration, can engage moving targets, and operates effectively both day and night from open and covered positions. Furthermore, the Krasnopol-M2 can engage hard targets by a salvo of several guns and has an impressive range of 20 to 26 km.

The Krasnopol-M2 system is complemented by the Malakhit automated artillery fire control system (AAFCS), which aids in target detection and illumination (even at night), controls survey of the firing position and command observation post, and automates calculation and firing data input.

The Krasnopol-M2 ammunition comes with the K155M semi-active laser-guided projectile and a propelling charge. This update significantly enhances the tactical capabilities of Russian artillery units in the Ukrainian battlefield, posing a severe threat to Western-donated armored vehicles.
