Successful trial tests for new Russian-made Ansyr 4x4 light tactical amphibious armoured vehicle. | |||
The
new Russian-made 4x4 light armoured vehicle "Ansyr" has successfully
performed its first trial tests. This information was released during
a defense event organized by the Russian Ministry of Defence. This new
vehicle is developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs
of Russia. |

The
tender for the development of the vehicle took place in early 2011. The
vehicle is especially designed to support special operations, patrols,
and reconnaissance, all while offering the crew enhanced protection. The Ansyr is an all-wheel drive with lockable inter-axle and cross-axle differentials and an all-wheel independent suspension. The vehicle has a total weight of 4,200 kg with a maximum payload of 800 kg. The Ansyr is motorized with a 180 hp. Diesel engine which provides a maximum road speed of 130 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 800 km.. The vehicle is fully amphibious with a maximum water speed of 5 km/h. The layout of the vehicle is very similar to the French VBL with the engine at the front and the crew compartment at the rear. The Ansyr can carry a total of three people with two seats at the the front and one at the rear. The driver sits at the front of the crew compartment on the left with the vehicle commander to the right. Both have a door in the side that opens to the front, with a bulletproof window in the upper part. There is a large door in the rear that opens to the left and has a bulletproof window. The hull of the Antsyr provides a protection against firing of small arms 7.62mm caliber and shell splinters. |
