The Kalashnikov Group will present its new AK-15K and AK-15SK rifles for the first time at IDEX 2025, which will be held from February 17 to 21 in Abu Dhabi, marking their debut on the international stage.

The AK-15K and AK-15SK models are designed for the 7.62x39mm caliber, a choice suitable for missions aimed at neutralizing enemy forces. These new variants have been developed to meet the demands of modern warfare, with improved technical, ergonomic, and operational characteristics. These rifles are optimized to deliver enhanced performance while maintaining great flexibility of use, which is essential in contemporary combat scenarios.

Both models are compatible with several types of ammunition, including 7.62mm cartridges such as the 1943 model with a steel-core projectile (57-N-231sl) and a tracer round (57-T-231P). Both the AK-15K and AK-15SK variants feature a 30-round magazine. A low-noise firing device (PMS) weighing less than 0.8 kg can be integrated into the rifles for missions requiring maximum discretion.

While the AK-15K and AK-15SK models belong to the same weapon family, they present notable differences in terms of weight, dimensions, and barrel design, making them suited for distinct operational needs.

The AK-15K rifle is slightly heavier, weighing 3.4 kg without the magazine, sling, or other accessories. This version is equipped with a 290mm barrel, providing greater range and accuracy, making it suitable for medium-range engagements. Its length in combat position is 810mm, making it a relatively standard model for use in open terrain, while also offering good stability and enhanced control during firing. However, when folded, its length is reduced to 570mm, which facilitates transport and storage in confined spaces, while maintaining a degree of compactness.

The AK-15SK, on the other hand, is lighter, weighing 3.2 kg, making it a more maneuverable option suitable for operations that require increased mobility. It has a shorter 228mm barrel, making it more compact and better suited for close-range engagements. In terms of dimensions, the AK-15SK is also more compact, with a length of 750mm in combat position and 500mm when folded. This reduction in size makes it ideal for situations where discretion and speed of movement are crucial, such as in urban environments or close-quarter combat.

These new rifles are designed to provide better mobility, increased compactness, and greater flexibility in combat situations. They represent a versatile solution tailored to different tactical scenarios. With these advanced features, the AK-15K and AK-15SK models from Kalashnikov are expected to attract attention at IDEX 2025, showcasing the company's commitment to providing high-performance weapons suited to modern operational needs.
