As the first version of the Terrier, the new modernized vehicle is based on a light commercial IVECO truck chassis. The hull of the new Terrier provides protection against ballistic threats, mines and improvised explosive devices (IED). The combination of carefully planned flexibility at a high transportation capacity and a great variety provides the right answer for the operational requirements of current and future missions of the armed forces. The new Terrier family includes three variants, 5 tons with IVECO Daily 4×4 chassis, 15 tons with IVECO EuroCargo 4×4 chassis and 18 tons with IVECO Trakker 4×4 chassis. The multi-purpose, completely protected loading space of approx. 7 to 14 m3 in volume provides ultimate flexibility and versatility. Because of its modular system, it is easy to design different variants. Very important for all of the vehicle series is the end to end safety cell, both for the crew as well as equipment and devices. The IVECO off-road chassis of the whole TERRIER series offers excellent tactical mobility during missions. The new Terrier can run at a maximum speed of 100 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 700 km. In option, the new Terrier can be equipped with tyre inflation system and NBC protection ventilation. The new Terrier can be quickly fitted with a Remote Controlled Weapon Station (RWCS) 100 or 200 which can be armed with 7.62 mm or 12.7mm machine gun. The system comprises a high-resolution CCD color camera with zoom, a powerful thermal imaging device (cooled or non-cooled), a unique image fusion function and a laser rangefinder for the modular surveillance, operating and display concept of the weapon stations. |
