The MMT-300, a small yet highly efficient underwater drone, is designed for the surveillance of seabeds and the inspection of underwater technical infrastructure at depths of up to 300 meters. Initially launched for information collection and reconnaissance, the MMT-300 has undergone significant upgrades since 2023. A team from Sevastopol State University has been working on enhancing the drone's communication system and developing advanced stereo vision technology.

The primary functions of the MMT-300 include collecting video data and various measurements from onboard sensors, examining the bottom surface, and inspecting underwater technical objects. Despite its sophisticated capabilities, the drone has not yet received a military order.

Equipped with satellite navigation, vision sensors, sonar, and a depth gauge, the MMT-300 boasts a comprehensive suite of technologies that enable it to operate effectively underwater. The vehicle measures 2.7 meters in length and 0.29 meters in diameter, offering a range of action up to 3.5 kilometers.

Additionally, the MMT-300 series includes a heavier variant, the MMT-3000, which can dive to depths of up to 3 kilometers, significantly expanding its operational scope.

The unveiling of the modernized MMT-300 at FLEET-2024 underscores Russia's commitment to advancing maritime defense technologies and enhancing underwater reconnaissance capabilities. As development continues, the MMT-300 and its variants are expected to play a crucial role in underwater exploration and infrastructure inspection, setting new standards in the field of autonomous underwater vehicles.
