Uralvagonzavod to start serial production of naval version of its AU-220M 57mm turret



According to information released by the Russian company Uralvagonzavod, the serial production of the naval version of the AU-220M 57mm cannon remotely operated weapon station could start in the next few weeks.

According to Uralvagonzavod, the naval version of the AU-220M 57mm cannon remotely operated weapon station is ready for serial production. At the same time, foreign customers showed high interest in its procurement. 

The naval version of the AU-220M can be mounted on boats and ships with a displacement of 150 tons and more in the standard version and 250 tons and more in the deck-based version. It has the ammunition load ready for firing, sufficient to engage eight targets, and is equipped with an optical-electronic target acquisition and tracking system.

The AU-220M can effectively hit aerial, seaborne and coastal targets at a distance up to 6 km due to its automatic control system being able to select the type of munitions, including prospective ones.

The 57 mm gun of the AU-220M turret has a range of up to 14.5 km and a firing rate of 80 rounds per minute. The turret is fitted with an ammunition load system with up to 80 ready-to-use air-burst, high-explosive, armor-piercing, and guided projectiles.
