Dmitry Andreev emphasized that the particularity of missileman training for alert duty is the lack of possibility of using technology for educational purposes, because the available missiles are on duty in constant combat readiness, and violation of the starting position is unacceptable.

The simulators are to be used at re-equipped newest complexes “Yars” in battalions of Tagil, Novosibirsk and Kozelsk missile compounds. Delivery of training complexes to Teykovsky Missile Division (Ivanovo region) has already been completed.

The RS-24 Yars is a mobile nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile which can be mounted on truck carriers or deployed in silos. Russia fully deployed the first RS-24 Yars regiment, consisting in three bataillons, in August 2011.

The RS-24 is a three-stage, solid propellant, MIRV-capable ICBM with a range of 10,500 km. The missile use an upgraded guidance system of the inertial Glonass system used in the RS-12M2 (Topol-M "SS-27" NATO). The RS-24 missile can be armed with up to 10 warheads.
