Denel South Africa will deliver 24 RG31 Agrab 120mm mortar carrier vehicle to United Arab Emirates.
South African defense Company Denel has announced a new order of 24 RG31 4x4 armoured vehicle 120mm mortar carrier (also called Agrab) for United Arab Emirates(UAE). A total of 73 vehicles have already been delivered to the UAE.

According to a contract between the UAE-based International Golden Group (IGG) and BAE Land Systems on December 2011, the Agrab RG31 mortar carrier was built under license by the company IGG.

The latest version of the RG31 mortar carrier will be fitted with additional customised equipment by IGG before the delivery to the UAE's armed forces.

The RG31 is 4x4 mine protected armoured vehicle designed and manufactured by the Compnay BAE Systems. The Agrab mortar carrier is fitted with a ST Kinetics 120 mm Super Rapid Advanced Mortar System (SRAMS) and an ammunition-handling system that can deliver 46 mortar rounds.

It is designed to have a three-man crew with the ability to deploy and deliver firepower in less than one minute.
