The new locally-made Ukrainian 4x4 armored vehicle based on the KrAZ-5233 chassis is designed to carry up to 10 people (2 + 8) in off-road conditions. “Such tactical and technical characteristics are in high demand in the Special Forces of the marines, air forces, land forces, as well as special operations forces“, Alexander Kuzma, director of Ukrainian Armor, said.

The Kamrat will be the first armored personnel carrier among the Ukrainian ones to benefit from the maximum protection class PZSA-6 (equivalent to STANAG 4569 level 3), which will provide protection against firearm impacts of 7.62mm caliber and P-32, being bullet-proof even from a distance of 10 meters only. The armored glass will have the same level of protection as the main armor. The engine of the vehicle is equipped with additional armor plates and is completely protected from a hit by a bullet of 7.62 mm. In addition, the Kamrat APC is designed with an IED and mine protection even in the case of an explosion under the wheel or bottom of 8 kg of TNT.

The Kamrat APC is equipped with a centralized tire inflation system, which enables the driver, be it on the move or not, to manage tire pressure to overcome difficult sections of rough terrain, automatically maintain tire pressure in the event of a puncture, and also automatically shut off wheel(s) from the system in case of its considerable damage.

“At the request of the Defense Ministry and special forces, the height of the car is reduced to 2.60 meters, which makes Kamrat one of the lowest armored personnel carriers in the MRAP class in the world,” said Alexander Kuzma, director of Ukrainian Armor. The combat vehicle with 16,400 kg of gross weight will be equipped with a 6-cylinder 380hp turbocharged engine. The 1,460 Nm torque ensures good mobility even in harsh off-road conditions.

Kamrat can be fitted with a Sarmat combat module (12.7 mm caliber), Corsar anti-tank missile system (107 mm caliber) or a Skif (130 mm and 152 mm caliber).
