The Taifun armored vehicle has enhanced protection and is designed to transport troops in dangerous areas. The vehicle is equipped with an onboard information management system that collects information on the work of all units and systems and transmits it to the driver. The Taifun is resistant to the blast of an explosive device equivalent to 8 kg of TNT under any of its wheels or anywhere under its bottom. It features combined ceramic/steel armor. The solution offers protection against 14.5mm and 7.62mm armor-piercing bullets.

Since the beginning of the year, the Eastern Military District has received more than 100 wheeled and special vehicles. The district has put into operation more than 50 Ural and about 20 KAMAZ trucks and trailers for them. District units have received about 10 Russian-made Patriot cross-country vehicles and special wheeled vehicles as well.
