Scorpion MRAP
Scorpion MRAP Streit Group
Mine Resistant Ambush Protected 4x4 armored vehicle - UAE
Description
The Scorpion is an armored personnel carrier in the category of MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) designed and manufactured by the Company Streit Group. The vehicle was unveiled in 2012 during the defense exhibition in Paris, Eurosatory. The result of an intensive R&D effort, the Streit-designed and manufactured mine-resistant and ambush-protected (IVIRAP) Scorpion, is being promoted as a fast-moving, agile and flexible command vehicle ideally suited to military applications. To maximize protection and survivability, Mister Goutorov (CEO of Streit Group) explains that the vehicle features a distinctive modular design with a monocoque V-hull armored compartment and, crucially, an engine and suspension system that is independently fixed from that of the crew cabin. When faced with the risk of lEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices), Scorpion MRAP Streit Group offers unparalleled protection. This 4x4 WCV is designed using cutting-edge technologies to be the first line of defense - and its outstanding occupant survival rate says it all. Built to withstand ballistic arms fire, mine blasts, lEDs, and other emerging threats, the Scorpion V-shaped hull helps to deflect blasts out and away from the crew and equipment. With its superior mobility, the Scorpion gets crew moving across threatening terrain in the most risky conditions, making it the single most effective counter to lEDs.
Scorpion MRAP variants:

The floor of the Scorpion provides a protection STANAG 4569 Level 2+. In option, the vehicle can be fitted with add-on armor. The vehicle provides also ballistic protection from a heavy machine gun (HMG), which is a protection level up to and including the Russian 14.5mm B32 anti-tank round. The windscreen and windows in the upper part of the hull are bulletproof and splinterproof and provide the occupants with good visibility over the frontal arc.
