Description
The CS/VN3 is a 4x4 light tactical armoured vehicle designed and manufactured in China by the Chinese Companies NORINCO and Poly Technologies. The development of the CS/VN3 was released in 2007 and unveiled for the first time to the public at AirShow China in November 2012. The CS/VN3 can be used as reconnaissance or armoured personnel carrier vehicle. In June 2017, it was announced the delivery of a first batch of CS/VN3 to Belarus.
 
Variants:
- CS/VN3B: This is an upgraded version of the CS/VN3 with add-on armour to increase ballistic and mine protection. The roof of the crew compartment is fitted with a remotely operated weapon station armed with a 7.62mm machine gun.
- CS/VN3C: the Armored Infantry Fighting Vehicle variant of the CS/VN3. The vehicle is fitted with a one man-turret armed with a 30mm automatic cannon.

Armament
The CS/VN3 can be fitted with a ring mount weapon station armed with a 7.62mm machine gun, mounted on the roof with a single-piece hatch cover that opens to the rear. The front part of the gunner position can be protected with armour plate which provides protection against firing of small arms. The vehicle can also be fitted with a light electrically remotely operated weapon station UW1 which is fully stabilized with a traverse of 360° and elevation from -5° to 60°. This weapon station can be armed with a machine gun up to 14.5mm or a 40mm automatic grenade launcher. Three somke grenade dischargers are mounted at the rear
Design and protection
The design of the CS/VN3 is standard with the engine at the front, crew in the middle and troops compartment at the rear. The hull of the CS/VN3 is of all-welded steel armour construction that provides protection against firing of small arms and shell splinters. The front of the vehicle is fitted with two small bulletproof windows. There is one single door on each side of the hull with one small bulletproof in the upper part. Each side of the crew compartment are fitted with two small bulletproof window and one firing port in the lower part. There is a large door in the rear of the hull that opens to the right and has a bulletproof window and a firing port. It can carry a total of 10 people including driver, commander and gunner.
Mobility
The CS/VN3 is motorized with a water-cooled turbocharged diesel engine developing 155 kW at 2,500 rpm coupled to a transmission with 5 forward and 1 reverse gears. It can run at a maximum road speed of 100 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 600 km. A exhaust pipe is mounted on the right side of the hull. The CS/VN3 can climb 60% gradient and a vertical obstacle of 0.35m. The vehicle is able to negotiate natural and engineered trenches of 0.65m maximum.
Accessories
Standard equipment of the CS/VN 3 includes air conditioning system and CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System) offering the possibility the pressure of the tires according the terrain conditions. The vehicle is fully amphibious, being propelled in the water by two propellers, one of each side at the rear of the hull. In option, the vehicle can be fitted with anti-skid braking system, nuclear, global positioning system (GPS), biological and chemical (NBC) protection system and a fire detection and suppression system.
