Description
The TITAN DS is the latest generation of wheeled armored vehicles in the Titan family developed by the UAE-based company Inkas Vehicles LLC. The vehicle was unveiled during IDEX International Defense Exhibition that took place in Abu Dhabi in February 2019. The new vehicle is an advanced version of the Titan-D, with a shorter chassis and a lighter weight. Inkas currently operates a 157,000-square feet manufacturing factory, producing over 1,000 armored vehicles, protected SUVs, armored cars, luxury sedans and special-purpose military vehicles every year, exported to the Middle East, North America, North Africa, and Asian markets.

Armament |
The Titan DS can be fitted with a one-man open-top turret protected by armor plate on 360° including bulletproof windows to offer awareness all-around the vehicle. The turret can be armed with a 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun. The vehicle can be also be fitted with a remotely controlled weapon station armed with various types of weapons from small to medium caliber, or a 40mm grenade launcher.

Design and protection |
The layout of the Inkas Titan-DS APC is conventional, with the engine at the front, the crew cab in the middle, and the troop compartment at the rear. The armor of the Inkas Titan-DS provides ballistic protection STANAG 4569 Level 2 against 7.62×39mm API (Armor Piercing Incendiary) at 695 m/s fired at 30 meters, and a mine blast of 6 kg of TNT under the wheels and the hull floor. The front of the crew compartment is fitted with two large bulletproof windows protected by metal mesh guards. There is a single door on each side of the vehicle that opens frontward, with a bulletproof window in the upper part also protected by metal mesh guards. There is a small door on each side at the front of the troop compartment fitted with a bulletproof window and a firing port. Two small bulletproof windows with an individual firing port in the lower part are available on each side of the hull. The vehicle can carry a total of 12 military personnel with four individual mine blast protected seats at front and 6 at the rear facing to each side of the hull. There are two additional doors in the rear of the hull, both fitted with a small bulletproof window and firing port. An escape hatch is available on the rear part of the roof.

Mobility |
The Titan-DS is based on a Dodge Ram F5500 Tradesman® Chassis Cab powered by a 6.7L Cummins® I-6 Turbo Diesel engine coupled to a 6-Speed AISIN® Automatic transmission. The vehicle can run at a maximum speed of 110 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 1,000 km. The vehicle is fitted with a complete suspension upgrade offering high-mobility in all-terrain conditions. |
Accessories |
Standard equipment of the INKAS Titan-DS 4x4 APC includes protection for the battery and electronic control module, Run-Flat devices installed on each wheel rim, OEM interior panels modified and reinstalled to maintain the original appearance of the vehicle and Independent Air Condition System. In option the vehicle can be fitted with strobe light systems, siren system, fire suppression system, upgraded brake system and suspension, roof-mounted lighting system, recover winch and electrical plug on the roof for antennas connection and other devices. |
