Armament |
At IDEX 2013, the BTR-4MV was equipped with the BM-3 "Shturm" remote-controlled weapon station, but the vehicle can also be fitted with other weapons station as the BAU-23x2, "Grom" turret or BM-7 "Parus" turret. The BM-3 "Shturm" turret is armed with a ZTM-1 30 mm automatic gun which can be remotely operated to provide increased soldier protection in hostile environments. The 30mm gun has a maximum firing rate of 330 rounds per minute and can fire AP-T (Armour Piercing - Tracer), HEF-I (High Explosive Fragmentation - Incendiary) and HE-T (High Explosive - Tracer) rounds.A 7.62 mm machine gun is mounted at the left side of the main armament. Three smoke-grenades discharger are mounted to each side at the front of the turret. Two anti-tank laser-guided missile launchers "Barrier" are mounted at the right side of the turret and a 30 mm automatic grenade launcher AGS-17 is mounted at the left side.

Design and protection |
The layout of the vehicle is very similar to the BTR-4, except for the front of the vehicle there is no windows but only one hatch both for the driver and commander. The driver hatch opens upwardly and includes periscopes. The commander has a single-piece hatch that opens to the rear and three day periscopes which are mounted on the front of its position. The weapon station is mounted on the top middle of the hull and the troop's compartment at the rear. The BTR-4MV differs from the previous versions mostly in having a third level of ballistic protection (in the basic version of this vehicle) and a modified configuration of the vehicle's hull, which makes it possible to install additional types of protection (including the ceramic plates and explosive reactive armour) to reach the fourth and fifth protection levels in accordance with the NATO standards. When the BTR-4MV is fitted with a weapon station, the vehicle can carry 6 infantryman or 10 without turret. The soldiers enter and leave the vehicle via a large power-operated ramp mounted at the rear of the hull. The troop's compartment is fitted with individual seats that hang from the sides and roof for a higher level of survivability, in case the vehicle runs over a mine or is hit by an improvised explosive device. Three firing ports are mounted on each side of the hull and three day periscopes on the top.

|
The main characteristic of BTR-4MV layout is the two single hatches mounted at the front of the hull in place of the two armoured windows as for the BTR-4 . |
Propulsion |
The BTR-4MV uses an 8x8 all-round independent torsion bar suspension. The BTR-4MV is motorized with a DEUTZ BF6M 1015CP diesel engine developing maximum power of 450hp. The engine is coupled to an automatic transmission with 5 forward and 1 reverse gears. The vehicle can be powered with other engine. The BTR-4MV can run at a maximum road speed of 100 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 700 km. The vehicle can negotiate a gradient of 30° maximum and a side slope of 25°.
|
Accessories |
The BTR-4MV is fully amphibious and propelled in the water by two water-jets at a maximum speed of 10 km/h. Standard equipment of the BTR-4MV includes air conditioning, NB protection system, fire control, central tyre inflation system (CTIS), day/night vision devices and communication means. The vehicle can also fitted with a navigation system SN-3003 Bazalt satellite system and one hydraulic winch of 9 tons mounted at the front of the hull.
