Armament

The Shareef-2 DCA02 is fitted with a one-man turret armed with a 30mm automatic cannon. The main armament can be coupled to a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, mounted on the left side. A bank of three smoke grenade dischargers is mounted on each side at the front of the turret. The cannon have a full 360° traverse with an elevation from -5° to +75°. Ammunition load for the cannon is 500 rounds.

Design and protection
The hull and the turret of the Shareef-2 DCA02 are made in all-welded steel construction which provides a protection against firing of small arms of 12.7mm caliber maximum and shell splinters. The vehicle is divided in three compartments with the driver and commander at the front, engine to the rear of the driver and the troop compartment at the rear. The driver and the commander have three day periscopes. The central periscope of the driver can be replaced by an IR (Infrared) night vision. The commander and driver each have a windscreen to the front that is covered, when in a combat area, by an armoured shutter hinged at the top. Commander and driver have also a rear-opening circular hatch mounted on the roof of the hull. The infantryman enters and leaves the vehicle via a large door that is hinged on the right and has a firing port and a vision block. In each side of the troop compartment are two firing ports with a day periscope. There is a single door in the lower half of each side of the hull between the first and second roadwheels. There are also four hatches on the roof of the troop compartment.
Propulsion
The Shareef-2 DCA02 uses a 6x6 chassis with independent suspension system and axles with differential lock which enable the vehicle to get excellent cross-country performance. The vehicle is motorized with a DEUTZ BF8L413FC air-cooled diesel engine and a mechanical gearbox which provide excellent performance in the tropical areas, desert and high land. The vehicle has 5 forward and 1 reverse gears, with a German-designed 5S-111GPA mechanical gear box and power assisted steering. The Shareef-2 DCA02 can run at a maximum road speed of 100 km/h with a maximum road range of 800 km. The vehicle can climb a gradient of 30° and cross a trench of 1.2m or vertical obstacle of 0.55m maximum.
Accessories
The Shareef-2 DCA02 is fully amphibious, propelled in the water at a maximum speed of 8 km/h by two propellers mounted one either side under the rear of the vehicle. Standard equipment of the vehicle includes NBC protection system, automatic fire extinguishing system, air conditioning system and bullet-proof tyres. In case of tyres are damaged, the vehicle can still travel a distance of 100 km at a maximum speed of 30 km/h. An infrared search light is mounted at the front of the turret. The vehicle is also equipped with a central tire inflation system, with this system the driver inflates and deflates tires automatically from inside the vehicle according to different terrain, enhancing cross-country performance.
