Description
The NIMR Hafeet class is a family of 6x6 multipurpose vehicles fully designed and produced by the Emirati defense vehicle manufacturer NIMR Automotive. The Hafeet Class provides a multi-mission capable platform suitable for mounting and integrating a multitude of weapons and mission systems. The electronic architecture ensures communication integration and the advanced power management can both enable the mission and protect the vehicle.

NIMR Automotive has developed a wide range of tactical and armored vehicles in the Hafeet Class family including:
Hafeet APC: armoured personnel carrier fitted with a 10 man cabin protected against significant IED, blast and ballistic threats for use as battlefield personnel carrier or can be adapted for medical evacuation missions.
Hafeet 620: logistic and utility 6x6 vehicle with two man cabin and large cargo bed that can be integrated with a variety of mission systems and weapon system loads.
Hafeet 640: armoured patrol 6x6 vehicle with a four man cabin protected against IED, blast and ballistic threats. Fitted for mission communications and self-defense thanks to a roof mounted gun ring. Can be integrated with a variety of mission systems and weapon system loads.

Armament |
Depending on the version, the NIMR Hafeet Class Vehicles can be fitted with a large range of combat systems and weapon stations : roof-mounted gun ring, high mounted gun ring and gun mounts of different types : light and medium machine gun (7.62×51mm NATO and 5.56×45mm NATO), heavy machine gun (NATO .50 BMG,12,7x99mm NATO). The Hafeet Class vehicles can be equipped of a grenade launcher (40×53 mm Grenade) and gun ports. Missile launcher and combat systems such as the MBDA MPCS (Multi-Purpose Combat System including a turret, sensors, IFF, Mistral missiles, command & firing posts and shelter equipment) can also be installed on Hafeet Class platform. Integrated command & control and mission systems provide additional crew survivability. It can also be equipped with a 20 to 30 mm caliber turret, such as the BAE TRT-R30MK 30mm remote-controlled turret.

Design and protection |
The NIMR Hafeet vehicles use a universal 6x6 chassis. The vehicle is manned by two crew members. In the basic variant, it is outfitted with two lateral doors, plus one rear door and one rooftop hatch for the APC version. The Hafeet class has a gross weight of 13-15 tons depending on the model
The Hafeet Class features variants with a high degree of protection to enhance the survivability of the crew to attack from roadside IEDs, under-vehicle mines and ballistic threats. The Hafeet Class vehicles can be armored with different levels of ballistic and blast protection depending on the variant and customer needs. The vehicles can receive standard ballistic protection up to STANAG level IV and standard blast protection up to STANAG level III (a,b). They can also be equipped with different kinds of survivability systems: heat signature system, RPG protection systems and Nuclear Biological and Chemical (NBC) protection. The vehicles are configured with a generic vehicle compliant electronic architecture providing intelligent power management. |
Mobility |
The NIMR Hafeet class is propelled by a Cummins ISBe 360 6.7 litre diesel engine, which generates a power of 286-360hp and develops a thrust of 1,100 Nm at 1,200 rpm. The engine is coupled to an Allison 3200SP 6 speed automatic gearbox. The Hafeet class vehicles have a fuel carrying capacity of 200l and can reach a maximum speed of 110 km/h and a maximum range of 600 km. All the Hafeet vehicles are equipped with air over hydraulic actuated disc brakes, hydraulic power assisted steering. All the Hafeet class vehicles use the NIMR double wishbone independent suspension portal axles fitted with coil springs and hydraulic dampers to provide outstanding mobility in all terrains. With steep approach and departures angles, the full Central Tyres Inflation system run flates as standard, and a high power-to-weight ratio, the Hafeet provides the user with strong performances to complete the mission. |
Accessories |
The standard equipment of the NIMR Hafeet class comprises a power management system, run-flat tires, a central inflation system and a winch. Vehicles from the Hafeet class can be fitted with three main optional packages. First, a survivability system comprises heat signature management, RPG protection system, and NRBC protection system. Then, it can receive communication systems as radio, intercom, antenna brackets, battlefield management systems, and C4I systems. Finally, the Hafeet class can be equipped with night/day vision devices, situational awareness systems, and a display monitor. Other optional items include a fire extinguisher, radio rack, auxiliary battery and power management, external searchlight, rifle mount bracket, and fire suppression system. |
