"The
key focus for BAE Systems this year will be centred around strategy to
develop a local presence through the strengthening of partnerships, both
new and existing. Our attendance and objective this time is aligned to
the focus of ASEAN in both Security and Economic areas while also addressing
our significant investment to date in Malaysia and the desire to expand
our portfolio across the region,” said John Brosnan, Managing
Director, BAE Systems, South East Asia.
“LIMA offers excellent opportunities for us to meet with existing and new customers, whilst allowing us to establish stronger bonds with the Malaysian government by delivering sustainable innovation through technologies with local Malaysian partners,” added Brosnan. At
LIMA this year, BAE Systems will once again demonstrate its long term
presence in Malaysia, where it has located our South East Asia regional
headquarters, through its close relationships with Malaysian industry.
As part of this ongoing commitment, BAE Systems looks to further cement
its ties and support the nation’s Economic Transformation Plan through
partnerships with innovative SMEs, government agencies and key academic
institutions.
LIMA will see the world’s most advanced multi-role combat aircraft, the Eurofighter Typhoon – engineered by our company and our three European partners – once again be displayed on Malaysian shores through the Full Scale Replica of the aircraft. In addition to the Eurofighter Typhoon, BAE is promoting a wide range of technologies and products across the Air, Maritime and Cyber domains, including the Hawk advanced jet trainer, naval guns with the 40Mk4 and 57Mk3, the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS), Type 26 frigate and Offshore Patrol Vessels. Offering far more than just defence and aerospace technologies, BAE is also known for its capabilities in cyber security. BAE Systems' cyber security arm, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, will have a significant Malaysian representation at this biennial event, focusing on national security and critical national infrastructure. |
