At LIMA 15 in Langkawi, Malaysian company Global Company Turbine Asia
Sdn Bhd (GTA) announced today the signature of an agreement with Europrop
International (EPI) for technical support service of the TP400 engine.
EPI is the manufacturer of the TP400 for the Airbus A400M military airlifter
owned by the Royal Malaysian Air Force, which is currently making its
first public appearance this week at LIMA 15'. |

The agreement was signed by GTA's Chairman and CEO, Dato Nonee Ashirin
Bt Dato Mohd Radzi and Ricardo Navarro, Support Service Manager of EPI.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by YB Dato Seri Hishammuddin Bin Tun
Hussein, Defence Minister of Malaysia and Dato Sri Abdul Rahim Bin Mohamad
Radzi, Secretary General, Ministry of Defence. The TP400 is a triple-spool turbodrop developing 11,000 shaft horsepower, making it one of the most powerful engine of this type in the world. It was purpose-designed for the A400M airlifter, and features proven technologies developed by the four EPI partners on other commercial and military engines. With its giant 8-bladed propeller 5 meters in diameter, the TP400 is an impressive sight - and a real technical and industrial challenge. |

GTA
has been appointed as a supplier by EPI to support the maintenance of
the TP400 engine in Malaysia. "This is an expertise that would
be acquired by local company through a joint venture with OEM in which
we are capable to support a larger and sophisticated engine",
remarked Dato None. According to her, GTA has been selected by EPI based on its experience and proven track record in this particular sector. By signing this agreement, GTA is positioning itself to be the centre of excellence in propulsion technology in this region. Europrop International GmbH (EPI) is a joint venture among four European aero-engine manufacturers, MTU Aero Engines, Snecma, Rolls-Royce, and Industria de Turbo Propulsores. |
