US State Department approves delivery of 400 AGM-114R1 Hellfire II missiles to South Korea | |||
The
United States State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military
Sale to the Republic of Korea for a total of 400 AGM-114R1 Hellfire Missiles
and associated equipment, parts, training and logistical support for an
estimated cost of $81 million. The principal contractor will be Lockheed
Martin Corporation in Orlando, Florida.

The
Republic of Korea (ROK) has requested a possible sale of 400 AGM-114R1
Hellfire II Semi-Active Laser Missiles with containers, 100 ATM-114Q Air
Training Missiles, and 12 M36E8 Hellfire II Captive Air Training Missiles.
The estimated cost is $81 million.
In September 2012, Seoul ordered 36 AH-64E Apache attack
helicopters, support and associated equipment for a total amount of
$3.6 bn. In addition to the Hellfires and to the $35 million contract
for Stinger® missiles announced yesterday by Raytheon Company, South
Korean Air Force also requested 11,020 2.75 Inch HYDRA Rockets and 774,144
30 mm Cartridge HEDP High Explosive Dual Purpose M789s. |
