Bell Helicopter wins a $461m order from USMC for AH-1Z and UH-1Y helicopters
 
Bell Helicopter, a subsidiary of Textron, has been awarded a $461,142,760 fixed-price incentive modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract to definitize the manufacture and delivery of 12 Lot 13 UH-1Y aircraft; 16 Lot 13 AH-1Z aircraft, and 16 auxiliary fuel kits for the US Marine Corps, the US Department of Defense announced on its website on Friday March 11, 2016.

Textron unit Bell Helicopter will provide 16 Vipers, 12 Venoms and 16 auxiliary fuel kits under the fixed-price-incentive contract, the US Defense Department said Friday.

Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas (60 percent); and Amarillo, Texas (40 percent), and is expected to be completed in February 2019. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.

Bell Helicopter designed the UH-1Y and AH-1Z to help fulfill various mission requirements of the U.S. Marine Corps.
