Berry Aviation wins $29mn contract to support USSOCOM missions

Berry Aviation, based in San Marcos, Texas, has been awarded a $29,002,500 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, fixed-price contract in support of the U.S. Special Operations Command, the US Department of Defense released yesterday, August 11.

The services to be provided are passenger, cargo, combined passenger and cargo, aeromedical evacuation, and short take-off and landing air transportation services within the Central Command Area Of Responsibility. The period of performance is Sept. 1, 2016 to Aug. 31,2017.
The contracting activity is the U.S. Transportation Command, Directorate of Acquisition, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, the US DoD added. Berry Aviation's specially modified STOL aircraft has the capability to airdrop 6-10 door bundles weighing up to 500 lbs. each and deliver vital equipment and emergency resupply to ground personnel on time and on target, the company says on its website. Its fleet also has the capability to perform free-fall HALO/HAHO personnel airdrops of up to 20 personnel into austere drop zones worldwide 24 hours a day. Berry Aviation's fleet is composed of Dash 8-200, DHC-6-300, Dornier 328, Metro 3, and Embraer Brasilia 120ER aircraft. |
