Qatar signs $667 mn deal for 24 AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopters

The US-based defense giant Boeing has been awarded a $667,522,500 foreign military sales contract for the delivery of 24 AH-64E Apache Guardian combat helicopters for the armed forces of Qatar, the US Department of Defense announced yesterday on its website.

"Work will be performed in Mesa, Arizona, with an estimated completion date of May 31, 2020. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity," the US DoD stated.
Qatar also ordered one Longbow crew trainer, ground support equipment and Thales-built radio systems. Doha confirmed in 2014 its intention to sign $23 bn worth of defense contracts, among them the delivery of Apache helicopters.
