Russia plans to order 48 Il-112V light airlifters in 2016-2017

Russia`s Ministry of Defense (MoD) is planning to order 48 Il-112V light military transport aircraft in 2016-2017, according to the United Aircraft Corporation`s (UAC) 2015 annual report.

"The contract (with the MoD) for 48 Il-112V light military transport aircraft was not signed in 2015 due to the correcting of the State Defense Order rearmament program. The terms of the contract`s signing were shifted to 2016-2017", the authors of the report said.
According to open sources, Il-112V plane is supposed to have a normal take-off weight of 20.4 t, a maximum take-off weight of 21 t, a payload of 6 t, a length of 23.49 m, a wingspan of 25.74 m, a passenger capacity of 44 servicemen, a maximum speed of 550 km/h, a cruise speed of 480 km/h, an operational range of 1,000 km and a service ceiling of 7,600 m. The aircraft will be powered by two TV7-117ST turboshaft engines (2,800 h.p. each). Il-112V will have a crew of two pilots. It is capable of auto landing approaches to categorized aerodromes (minimum requirement being ICAO category II) and manual landing approaches to aerodromes poorly equipped with, or having no radio technical equipment. |
