The deliveries of the Mi-38 helicopter’s civil version are planned to start in 2018 as well, Bugakov added.
"The first Mi-38 helicopters are planned to start arriving for the Russian Defense Ministry in 2018. The deliveries of the Mi-38 helicopter’s civil version will begin in late 2018 - early 2019," the deputy CEO said. As Bugakov said, two versions of the Mi-38 helicopter have been developed, i.e. the civil version, which has received the basic type certificate, and the transport version that is planned to be delivered to the Russian Defense Ministry. According to him, the two versions have several different systems. As Bugakov said, it will take the Kazan Helicopter Plant about two years to obtain the supplementary type certificate. This certificate will allow expanding the capabilities of the civil and army Mi-38 helicopters. "The Mi-38 helicopter has obtained its basic type certificate. It needs to receive the supplementary type certificate that will allow fully operating the helicopter. In particular, this certificate will allow expanding the helicopter’s altitude and speed bands, using it in ice conditions and performing instrument flights," Bugakov said. As Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov said earlier, a contract for the delivery of Mi-38 helicopters to Russia’s Aerospace Force is planned to be signed in 2017. |
