The relevant agreement is planned to be signed at the Azerbaijan International Defense Industry Exhibition (ADEX 2016) in late September, Chechikov added.
"Russian Helicopters Group is planning to open a service center on the premises of the Silk Way Helicopter Services Enterprise to provide maintenance and overhaul for the civil Mi-8/17 rotorcraft," the deputy CEO said. "Also, there are plans to make the center capable of providing maintenance and overhaul for military helicopters," he added. According to Chechikov, talks on cooperation issues are currently under way. "Relevant agreements are planned to be signed at the ADEX 2016 exhibition," he said. On August 8, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said that there were plans to open a helicopter center and an aircraft assembling plant in Baku. Rogozin made this statement after a meeting of the Russian, Azerbaijani and Iranian presidents. |
