"Work will be performed in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and is expected to be complete by July 16, 2022. This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, is the contracting activity," the US DoD said on its website.
The French Air Force currently flies a fleet of four E-3F AWACS aircraft, all assigned to the 36th Air detection and command squadron based at Avord Air Base. The French E-3F aircraft have been modernized since 2013 through a $460 million contract signed with Boeing Defense. The Mid-Life Upgrade program included new mission computer, additional and more powerful consoles and a new IFF system.
