The Ukrainian defense company SE «Ukrinmash», which is a part of the SC «Ukroboronprom», unveiled a new concept of light combat helicopter at IDEX 2017. Dubbed “KT-112UD”, this project has been designed to fight against armoured targets, low and medium altitude aircraft.

The KT-112UD is a light attack and reconnaissance helicopter similar to the US-made OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, or to the Chinese Z-11WB helicopter unveiled at Zhuhai Air Show 2016. It is a further development of the Aviaimpex KT-112 Yanhol.
The KT-112UD is powered by two Rotax 914 turbo-charged engines, each developing 115 hp. The helicopter has a cruising speed of 180 km/h, a static ceiling of 1,200 m and a service ceiling of 4,000 m. In its armed variant, the KT-112UD can be used against ground and air targets. It can be armed with four Barrier-V antitank guided missiles, six Strela 2/Igla man-portable air defense systems, and one machine gun PKT. It features a gyro-stabilized gimbal with thermal camera and control channel of the ATGM. The KT-112UD has a maximum payload of 430 kg. Navigation and radio equipment include two CD-20 Alternator (27V) generators, a Bendix/King KCS-55A heading system, King KY 96A COM XCVR-28V radio station, and on-board system of automatic monitor and flight data recording system. |
