DSA 2018: Deftech lands Royal Malaysia Police Cessna aircraft support contract.
Deftech Aviation Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad, announced a contract extension worth RM 18 million (USD 4,62 million) with the Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs during a handover ceremony on April 18, 2018 at the DSA exhibition.

The contract extension is for the servicing and supply of spare parts for Cessna aircraft under the Pasukan Gerakan Udara (PGU), the air wing unit of the Royal Malaysia Police.
The ceremony was held at MITEC, in conjunction with the on-going 16th DSA, and witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Dh Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
The initial contract was signed on 16 March 2015 and expired on 16 March 2018. The new contract extension will be for two years.
”Deftech Aviation, located at Batu Berendam, Melaka, is an authorised service center for Cessna aircraft and has been servicing the aircraft operators in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia for many years. The signing of the contract extension marks the continuation of our commitment to provide excellent services and support to the Royal Malaysia Police in their enforcement efforts for national security,” said Lt. Col. Dato’ Hj Amril Samsudin, Group CEO of Deftech.
Deftech Aviation is equipped with strength and knowledge in composite technologies and has revolutionised its business into an advance aero composites MRO hub which is accredited by a range of aerospace approvals from both local and international authorities.
Deftech has been providing composite material repair work, as well as MRO service for the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) aircraft since 2011. Deftech Aviation continues to strengthen their capabilities in the industry, in line with the Malaysian Government’s 2030 Aerospace Blueprint initiative which seeks to achieve 5% of the global market in the MRO industry.
